Projection Booth Workshop at Heights Theater
Feb. 28th, 1.30-3.30pm at Heights Theater
Analogue projection technology is rapidly disappearing from many theaters across the U.S. However, a few locations in Minneapolis are still offering analogue film experiences, and we want to take advantage of those spaces to learn about where film came from and possibly, where it is going. This workshop will revolve around all the technology found in professional projection booth spaces, the routine of projecting analogue film, the merits and dangers of analogue projection, and finally, the similarities and differences between analogue and digital projection. Spots for the workshop are VERY LIMITED and will be given out on a first come first served basis. In addition to the afternoon workshop, participants are invited to come back and watch Mildred Pierce—the Heights’ 35mm projection—in the evening of the workshop day.
